Our Projects

Greening Earth Foundation launched its first project, Greening Earth One (GE1), in December 2021 in Mseko village. One year later, following a successful start and strong community adoption, the organization launched its second project, Greening Earth Two (GE2), in November 2022 in Mgongo and Kizonzo villages. Mseko, Mgongo, Kizonzo, and Kisonga Shelui villages make up the Mgongo ward, located in the western part of the Singida region alongside the border of the Singida and Tabora regions, on the highway from Dar es Salaam to Mwanza at the bottom of the rift valley. The foundation has since expanded its work into the neighbouring Kitangili ward in Igunga District, Tabora Region. Our projects are funded and supported by the Dutch investor STICHTING WEES EEN KAN.

We work in some of the most impoverished areas of the country, where land degradation and climate change most affect people’s livelihoods. As of December 2025, Greening Earth projects cover two wards with a total area of 25,922 hectares, where 4,157 households (about 89% of all households in the project area) directly participate in the project. Since 2021, the projects have raised and planted more than 3.1 million seedlings across roughly 3,400 hectares using agroforestry systems, alongside improvements in health and living conditions, land rights, savings and microfinance, and school environmental education.
